Description: The Altodouro (MS Douro Prince) has 24 well decorated outside twin cabins with air conditioning, TV, heating and bathroom spread all over two decks. 15 Cabins and one suite on the upper deck and 8 cabins with balconies on the main deck.
There is an elegant one-sitting dining room, bar, lounge, sundeck and gift shop fully air conditioned. The vessel meets all the rigorous requirements of the European Navigation Inspectorate. The currency on board is the Euro, clients may sign for drinks and settle the account at the end of the trip. Visa, American Express, Euro Travellers Cheques and Euro Cheques are accepted. As well as the seven night cruise detailed we also feature one and two day cruises.
DAY 1 (SATURDAY) - Check in at the Vila Nova de Gaia Quay in Oporto and overnight on the Douro Prince.
DAY 2 (SUNDAY) - Breakfast on board followed by a half day exploring Porto City and its historic buildings and sites of this lovely city. After lunch on board, start to cruise up stream to Bitetos, crossing Crestuma Lever Dam, upon arrival at Bitetos, transfer to Alpendurada Monastery for dinner.
DAY 3 (MONDAY) - Departure for Regua, the birth place of the port wine region, afternoon at leisure with dinner at Solar da Rede Manor (Pousada).
DAY 4 (TUESDAY) - Travel overland to the picturesque town of Vila Real and Mateus Palace Gardens. Rejoin boat at Pinhao crossing the Valeira and Pocinho dams, dinner and overnight in Barca d`Alva.
Day 5 (WEDNESDAY) - Departure for Spain to Vega de Terron. Optional guided coach tour to Salamanca World Heritage City with lunch at typical Spanish restaurant (purchase locally). Free afternoon to explore and shop. Dinner on board with live Flamengo Show.
DAY 6 (THURSDAY) - Departure for Pinhao crossing Pocinho Dam. A tour is included to Sao Salvador do Mundo and Sao Joao da Pesqueira, here you will find the best views of the Port Wine vineyards and the white Quintas (Manors) set within them, whilst the boat continues downstream. Arrival at Pinhao with dinner on board.
DAY 7 (FRIDAY) Cruise to Regua and dock at Lamego, with a coach tour visit to Lamego town with the ancient Baroque, Renaissence and 12th century church and cathedral. Climb seemingly endless decorated staircase to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios with spectacular views. Return to boat passing the Carrapatelo and Crestuma dams. Dinner and overnight on board upon arrival at Vila Nova de Gaia Quay in Oporto.
DAY 8 (SATURDAY) - Disembark after breakfast.
